Dobermans velcro dogs?

Many breeders and articles call Dobermans velcro dogs because they stick to you and are known to follow you from room to room never leaving your side, showing their devotion and loyalty. However, is this necessarily a good trait to have?? Is this not a behavior for separation anxiety? Velcro doberman good or bad? Would you buy from a breeder who describes his dobermans as velcro dogs?
