Lens error? Where did that come from?

It sounds like the motor went out. It may be less expensive to buy a new camera instead of pay for repairs to this one. Try to get a new one that uses the same media card you have now. $110 to fix a camera when you can buy one for $125 or less? Before you decide, find out if the problem is widespread since it could be a recall.. Sorry for the aggravation with the camera..
