Should I move to New York with my girlfriend?

I am 23, my gf is 20. My girlfriend of 2 years is planning to go to NYU law school in the fall. Now we both live in the Bay area, California (not together, just near each other). She is excited about the opportunity and I am very happy for her. The only problem is this: I am attached to my family, in LA, whom I visit every month. THis will not be possible if I move to New York with her. Also, I am an accountant (just got my MS in Taxation degree) but I am considering doing further career exploration in other fields, such as finance and hedge funds. So basically, I will have no job or friends in New York to start with. My relationship w/ my girlfriend has ups and downs but we are generally happy together. I am very uneasy/unsure about what I want and moving to NY is a huge step forward. Any advice is appreciated.
